Piper is our Siamese cat. She came to us when I was working at the local vet clinic. Another person who worked there asked if I would take her since she was moving. I said yes with the understanding that if she and my dog Amos didn't get along, Piper would become the clinic cat. She's sitting here in my lap 9 years later, she is as happy as ever!
Nugget is our 7 year old long coated dachshund. We got him a few weeks after our smooth coated dachshund named Amos died during surgery for a ruptured disk in his neck. When to get a pet after the loss of a pet is a very personal choice and should not be judged. I needed Nugget to come home with me right away. He was just a perfect angel the entire time I was grieving. He would snuggle when I needed it and play when he needed it! It was not long before he brought pure joy back into our home!! And he continues to be my most well behaved little angel!!
Daisy Mae is Nugget's first cousin. She is a long coated dachshund and is 6 years old. She is stubborn and silly and loves belly rubs. She is the reason for this site! She is a total handful and one look into her eyes will make you forget anything she did that she wasn't supposed to do!! She is the love of my life!! She is doing great in her surgery recovery too.
Duke is our wonderful accident!! We believe he is a Chihuahua, or a Papillon, maybe even a little of both!! I was working at a doggie daycare that he was boarding at. Very long story short his owner asked that someone else take him. He was only 4 months old, we were not in the market for a puppy, and we never even imagined getting anything but a dachshund. He is now 2 and half and the funny part of our family!! He loves to play and he plays hard! Watch out though because when it is time to snuggle he will melt your heart!!
Ryder was our foster dog. She is a papillon mix and stayed with us for two wonderful months. It is amazing how well she fit into our home like she had always been here. He favorite pass time was to play fetch. We had to let Rye leave for her new family on October the 8th. She is very missed and we look forward to hearing how much her new forever family loves her. Here photo is also below. She may have been her a short time but was very much a part of our family.
And the rest of the family would be Shannon and myself~ Wendy. Shannon works for a trucking company doing dispatch and really enjoys it. I work at home, making snuggle sacks! We've been married 10 wonderful years. I was raised in Ohio, he in California. We met in the middle and reside in Texas!
